Rainfall was the heaviest for the month of February. Most of the principle rivers reached flood stage or slightly above, a time or two the last week, but crests did not occur until the first week in March when light to moderate floods were general. Many eastern tobacco plants in beds were damaged seriously by excessive rains on the 25th and 26th, and the lowlands were flooded.
