Rainfall was averaged above normal in the northern and western part of the State, while rainfall occurred throughout the month, the heaviest rain was concentrated near the middle of the month when heavy rains pushed the PeeDee, Wateree, Santee, and Congaree Rivers to the highest levels of the past several years. Considerable damage was reported along the Wateree near Camden and along the PeeDee below Cheraw as well, as in the lake Saluda area near Greenville.
