September 2004

The precipitation values that month were heavily influenced by numerous tropical cyclones that occurred during this active hurricane season. On September 6th-8th, the remnants of Hurricane Frances produced over 10 inches of rain in a 72 hour period in the Upstate. As Hurricane Ivan dissipated, moderate to heavy rainfall fell in the northwest Upstate. Later that September, Tropical Depression Jeanne brought flooding rainfall to the Upstate. Over four inches of rain fell in the northwestern corner of the state.
