Hogback Mountain experienced many wetter than usual months in 1979. Spring was an exceptionally wet season: March (10.95”), April (14.86”), and May (12.73”). The station had April’s heaviest precipitation within the state and May saw the most rainfall since 1975. Hogback Mountain’s greatest monthly precipitation occurred in September with 17.24”.
