WEATHER SUMMARY

Upstate sites reported thunderstorms on Tuesday with large hail and winds gusting to 58 mph at Greer. Wet weather coverage included counties to the south across the midlands. The southern coastal part of the state missed out on the needed rainfall. Daily high temperatures for the work week were observed in the low to mid 80's peaking around 90 by week's end.. Statewide temperatures for the period averaged three degrees above normal.

PRECIPITATION AND TEMPERATURE DATA

The maximum observed temperature was 94 degrees at Cheraw on May 7. The minimum observed temperature was not available. The heaviest 24-hour rainfall was reported at Greer with 1.59" on May 2. Statewide average rainfall for the period was 0.2".
