WEATHER SUMMARY

Mid to upper 90 degree afternoon temperatures were reported during the first half of the work week. Widely scattered thunderstorms formed on Wednesday and the pattern continued through the weekend. Daily high temperatures settled back into the 80 degree range as increased cloud cover limited sunshine hours. Statewide temperatures for the week averaged three degrees above normal.

PRECIPITATION AND TEMPERATURE DATA

The highest temperature was 97 degrees at Hartsville and Chesterfield on June 5. The lowest temperature was 57 degrees at Caesars Head on the morning of June 8. The heaviest 24-hour rainfall reported was 1.40" at Ft. Moultrie ending at 7:00 a.m. on June 10. The average statewide rainfall for the period was 0.5".
