WEATHER SUMMARY:

Lower humidity values were observed following a frontal passage on Tuesday. At 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, Greer reported a relative humidity of 15 percent while Beaufort measured 26 percent. Wednesday mornings minimum temperatures cooled into the 60's for much of the state before the heat and widely scattered afternoon thunderstorms returned. At around 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, the community of Jacksonborough in Colleton County received 0.98 inches of rain in 20 minutes. While both Saluda and Camden recorded Wednesday high temperatures of 100 degrees, North Myrtle Beach enjoyed a seabreeze and a high temperature of 84 degrees. Daytime heating supported convective and slow moving storms through the weekend. Rainfall amounts were heaviest over eastern South Carolina. Hilton Head AP reported a wind gust of 64 mph during a thunderstorm Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The state average temperature for the period was one degree above normal.

The highest official temperature reported was 101 degrees at Chesterfield on June 26. The lowest official temperature reported was 56 degrees at Table Rock on the morning of June 25. The heaviest official 24-hour rainfall reported was 4.17 inches at Crabtree Swamp (Horry County) ending at 7:00 a.m. on June 23. The state average rainfall for the period was 0.9 inches.
