WEATHER SUMMARY

Under sunny and calm Autumn skies, afternoon high temperatures from Monday through Wednesday climbed into the upper 70's and mid 80's. A cold front passed west to east late Wednesday with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. Much cooler air followed the boundary Thursday evening. Morning low temperatures on Saturday fell to their lowest of the season with several upstate sites reporting mid and upper 30 degree minimums. Mostly sunny and mild conditions ended the week. For the period, the state average temperature was near normal.

The highest official temperature reported was 85 degrees at Conway and Jamestown on October 13. The lowest official temperature reported was 34 degrees at Walhalla on the morning of October 16. The heaviest official 24-hour rainfall reported was 1.09" at Lockhart ending at 7:00 a.m. on October 13. The average statewide rainfall for the period was 0.6.”
