WEATHER SUMMARY

High pressure dominated the entire week. Daily afternoon high temperatures ranged between the mid-70's and low 80's. Morning lows were in the upper 50's. Fall colors were displaying brightly across higher elevations. Rainfall was absent during the period , adding to the year long deficits. Most reporting stations have not had measurable rain this October. Statewide temperatures for the period averaged four degrees above normal.

PRECIPITATION AND TEMPERATURE DATA

The maximum observed temperature was 85 degrees at the State Climatology Office in downtown Columbia on October 17and at Florence on October 22. The minimum observed temperature was 32 degrees at Lake Bowen on the morning of October 16. Statewide average rainfall for the period was 0.0".
