Incipient Drought Declaration Lifted for South Carolina

Drought Response Committee Meeting Sign-In sheet.

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) has lifted the incipient drought declaration for all counties in South Carolina. The return to near normal rainfall during January has alleviated drought conditions statewide. Groundwater and streamflows have responded to the increased rainfall and have returned to near normal levels. SCDNR will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed.

Contact Dr. Mizzell in Columbia at (803) 734-9568 or e-mail at mizzellh@dnr.sc.gov for more information.

DNR protects and manages South Carolina's natural resources by making wise and balanced decisions for the benefit of the state's natural resources and its people. Find out more about DNR at the DNR Web site.
