Cooper River Flow Study

Conducted by James M. Long, Ph.D.

I am examining how discharge from Jeffries Hydropower Dam influences wetland fish habitat. Using empirical data models, I am relating dam discharge to amount of flooded habitat in the wetlands of the Cooper River and how variation in discharge might influence that habitat. Based on work from the Cooper River Tidal Wetlands project, I hope to link changes in discharge to differences in the vegetation community, which acts as fish habitat.
