2000	Coast Watch was added as an extension to the Operation Game Thief Program for citizens to report marine law violations.
2000	Carole Collins became the first female Division Director in the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources. She became director of the Conservation, Education, and Communications Division.
2003	A review of the Freshwater Fisheries Program was completed in an effort to better address aquatic resource needs in South Carolina.
