Landscape Architect License Information
SC Code of Laws, 40-28-10
The South Carolina Landscape Architect Registration Law was enacted in 1976. The purpose of the Act is to protect the health, safety and welfare of the public through the registration of qualified professionals. We are a member of the national Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB). CLARB prepares and evaluates the national registration exam for landscape architects.
The South Carolina Landscape Architect Registration Law is a title and practice act. A Landscape Architect must be licensed by the State of South Carolina in order to use that title or to practice landscape architecture.
If a firm is a corporation or partnership, a Certificate of Authorization must be obtained to do business in the state. A landscape architect in responsible charge, who is a corporate officer or partner, must be licensed in South Carolina as a landscape architect.
