Great Pee Dee River Heritage Preserve

Directions

From Darlington, go 7 miles east on SC 34. As you pass through the village of Mechanicsville, turn left (north) on S-16-35 (North Charleston Road) and drive 1.6 miles. Turn right (east) on marked access road and drive 1.2 miles to the preserve boundary. (The access road passes through private property and trespassing is prohibited.)

Access road may not be passable in very wet weather. Boat access is available nearby at the Cashua Ferry boat ramp, immediately south of the preserve on SC 34, or Blue's boat landing south of Bennettsville in Marlboro County. For information call (803) 734-3893.
