Little Pee Dee Heritage Preserve
Directions
The largest area of the preserve, the Ervin Dargan tract, lies on both sides of the Little Pee Dee River below Galivants Ferry in Horry County. The best access point is Huggins Landing. From the point at which US 501 crosses the river near Galivants Ferry, go east about 0.25 mile to the intersection with Pee Dee Road, turn right and drive 1.3 miles and turn right onto Huggins Landing Road (a dirt road). Follow the road to the boat landing. The preserve lies up- and downstream, and on both sides of the landing. The Little Pee Dee tract is close to the Marion County town of Mullins. From Mullins, drive southeast on SC 917 for 5 miles. After crossing the Little Pee Dee River bridge, turn left at the first entrance road.
