Description

Wood's Bay State Park Heritage Preserve lies adjacent to Wood's Bay State Park. The Heritage Trust Program acquired 470 acres to help protect the 1,541 acre state park by buffering it from development. Wood's Bay is a spectacular Carolina bay with several different wetland habitats. The state park and heritage preserve lie in Sumter, Clarendon, and Florence counties, near the town of Olanta. The state park's amenities include a boardwalk, canoe rentals, nature programs, trails, and a picnic shelter.
