Lindsey Parker

Lindsey Parker captains the RV Georgia Bulldog and was among the original co-investigators of this research program. Lindsey is now in his fourth decade of employment with UGA MAREX, most of which has involved conducting trawling and/or in-water sea turtle research. As such, Lindsey is a wealth of first-hand information that has been instrumental in contributing to the success of the in-water sea turtle research program. Similar to both captains on the RV Lady Lisa, Lindsey is also a former commercial shrimper.

Lisa Ligouri

Lisa Ligouri holds a BS in Anthropology from Haverford College and a MA in Resource Management and Environmental Studies from the University of British Columbia. Lisa began her association with the in-water sea turtle research program in 2007 when she was hired by UGA MAREX as their Fisheries Extension Leader. Lisa’s contributions range from assistance in the field to managing the contractual agreement with UGA MAREX.

J. Marty Higgins

J. Marty Higgins is the first mate on the RV Georgia Bulldog and has provided fundamental field assistance and insights to this program since 2000. Similar to Lindsey, Marty is also in his fourth decade of conducting trawling and/or in-water sea turtle research with the UGA MAREX and also comes from a proud shrimp fishing lineage.

H. Truck McIver

H. Truck McIver is the second mate on the RV Georgia Bulldog and has assisted with field operations for this program since 2011. When he is not working with UGA MAREX, Truck continues to commercially fish for shrimp.

Lisa Gentit

Lisa Gentit is a Research Technician III with the UGA MAREX began her association with the in-water sea turtle research program in 2010, and has since become a vital member of the research team who is qualified in all aspects of data collection and sample processing.
