DNR partners with Quail Unlimited for youth hunts

Mitch Smith also participated in the DNR youth dove hunt at Manchester State Forest, and commented about his daughter’s first hunting experience: "I want to thank the folks of our DNR for an absolutely amazing first hunt for my daughter Erin, 8. Erin walked into the field for the first time ever shouldering her brand new single shot .410 and knocked down two doves opening day. Erin enjoyed it so much that we took my wife and son, 4, the next day to a friend’s farm where she shot another one. On her dresser at home now sits a framed picture of her, her gun and her first dove, which will be a lasting memory of our first hunt together. Thanks to DNR and great staff at Manchester for a splendid hunt."
