Introductory fishing course offered at Santee State Park

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources will be offering an introductory fishing 101 course at Santee State Park in celebration of the South Carolina State Parks 75th Anniversary.  The course will be offered on March 21st beginning at 11 a.m.  Fishing 101 will teach skills on how to tie fishing knots, how to rig a rod and reel and the best part is everyone will get to try their hand at fishing.  The event is free with park admission.  A cookout will be provided by the Santee State Park staff following the event.  All ages are welcome, so come out and play, enjoy the outdoors and make this a family fun day. 

Registration is required as numbers are limited.  Contact S.C. Department of Natural Resources (DNR) aquatic education coordinator Lorianne Riggin at (803) 737-8483 to register.  Deadline for Registration is March 2nd.
