Wateree River boat landing reopens as flood waters recede
The S.C. Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has reopened the Wateree River public boat launch located at U.S. Highway 1 in Kershaw County.
"River levels have decreased and it is again safe to use the boat ramp located between Lugoff and Camden on the Wateree River at U.S. Highway 1," according to Region II Captain William Poole with the DNR law enforcement division. "Boater’s launching and retrieving watercraft at that facility are encouraged to use care and caution due to possible wet, muddy conditions."
The landing is located at Latitude: 34.244, Longitude: -80.6539 in Kershaw County, where the Wateree River intersects with U.S. Highway 1, south of the Wateree lake dam.
