DNR Youth Wing Shooting Clinic Aug 1
The S.C. Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and Mid Carolina Gun Club is offering a great opportunity to the youth of South Carolina to attend a Wing Shooting Clinic Aug 1 from 8:30 a.m. until 1: 30 p.m. in Orangeburg County. The clinic focuses on participants learning to safely shoot a shotgun at a moving target with reasonable reliability.
The clinic starts with a morning shotgun safety presentation, followed by a brief, hands-on shotgun orientation session with each group’s instructor. Participants spend the morning shooting flying clay targets designed for beginning and novice shooters. Not only do the participants learn to safely handle and shoot a shotgun, but they learn that being skilled at shooting clay targets is a lot of fun. The clinic will introduce all the basic wing shooting skills needed for a successful bird hunt.
The first 15 students ages 10-17 who contact Jessica Gibson at gibsonj@dnr.sc.gov will be able to attend. Deadline to register July 21. We will confirm your attendance by email with further instructions. Only by a confirmation email on July 22 , from Jessica may you attend so respond quickly for a slot. There is no charge for the clinic and lunch will be provided. DNR welcomes parents and guardians to stay while their students participate.
