Changes to 2012 - 2013 Rules and Regulations

Errors occasionally appear in the publication and news releases are published to clarify these situations. To research laws, visit http://www.scstatehouse.gov/research.php.

Other information is published only in DNR news releases. This includes announcements relative to shrimp baiting, public hearings, fishing rodeos, DNR Board decisions and position statements, new legislation, youth activities, mobility impaired hunts, US Dept. of Agriculture cost-share programs, special drawing hunts, schedules for newly acquired areas and many other items of interest. DNR news releases are published weekly and distributed free to editors of all regional and local newspapers and are available to the public.

The following verbiage was removed from under Freshwater Game Fishing Regulations, section titled Selling and Importing the first bullet:

"or a private pond owner selling less than $2,500 in product annually."

The following verbiage was added after "Cooper River system" in the bullets under Species Striped Bass and/or Hybrids:

"(means all waters of Cooper River and its fresh water tributaries, from the freshwater/saltwater dividing line to its headwaters including the East and West Branch and the Tailrace Canal)"

The following verbiage was added in the last bullet after "Winyah Bay River System" under Shad/Herring (American and hickory shad and blueblack herring):

"(means all waters of Winyah Bay east of a line running south from the southern tip of North Island to the eastern tip of Sand Island, and extending to the mouths of the Sampit, Great Pee Dee, and Waccamaw Rivers)"
