Videographer Stewart Grinton
Stewart Grinton is the newest addition to the DNR video crew. Born in Columbia and raised in Aiken, Stewart learned to love the wilderness as a Boy Scout, achieving the rank of Eagle in 1998. His time at South Aiken High School fostered a love of filmmaking which sadly and mostly embarrassingly weaved it's way into most class assignments. He graduated from USC with a BA in Media Arts and has been shooting and editing video as if it was his career ever since. After a brief venture into local TV news and a much longer 3 1/2 years as a corporate media goon, Stewart was ecstatic to find work which combined both his love of media and the outdoors.
Stewart spends his off-time producing, shooting and editing independent films. He's also a road cyclist and as of 2008 has decided to give triathlons a try.
I know what you're thinking - but sorry ladies, this hunk is spoken for. In August, Stewart and the effervescent Ms.Katie Duffy were wed in Chattanooga, TN. They spent their honeymoon in the mountains of Montana at Glacier National Park and now reside in the St. Andrews area of Columbia. The Grinton family is supplemented by their dachshund Sydney, a recovering tennis ball addict; and Inez, a black jaguar crammed into the body of an unassuming house cat.
