The Department of Natural Resources has established the STARS program for employees that have retired from the Department. STARS stands for Staying Together After Retirement Starts. Former Director of the Department of Natural Resources, John Frampton, believed retirees are an important part of the Department's history and wanted to recognize and maintain a relationship with them. As a way to honor the retirees, DNR hosted four kickoff luncheons across the state in January and February. Many agency events offer former employees the opportunity to stay in touch and continue to be an asset to the Department. For more information contact:

How the DNR's STARS program was born...
Carole Collins, Deputy Director, Outreach & Support Services, created the concept of a retirees program and took it to Former Director John Frampton, not knowing what his reaction would be (He loved it!)
Linda Amick (a very shining STAR) and Carole had talked a lot about the possibility of such a program. Linda has a vision/dream and the name "Staying Together After Retirement Starts - STARS" came to Linda from the heavens!
