Nest Monitoring

During 2011, SCDNR monitored individual wood stork nests at two colonies. The purpose of monitoring individual nests is to determine how many chicks survive to fledging age per nest. Data about breeding success and productivity is very useful for biologists and resource managers. We plan to expand the nest monitoring project during upcoming nesting seasons.
