A heavy precipitation event took place across the upstate on the 16th and 17th. Six inches of rain, part of their monthly total of 20 inches, fell at Caesars Head over 24-hours. Nearby sites with surface temperatures near freezing, measured a mixture of sleet, freezing rain, and snow. Gaston Shoals, located in northern Cherokee County, was blanketed with four inches of the frozen mixture.
